The Cheese School of San Francisco - A Brief History and Description of Event Space
The Cheese School of San Francisco is the only independent institution of its kind in the nation. We are devoted to helping you maximize your enjoyment and appreciation of cheese. Our philosophy is “eating is learning” and we treat our students to a cornucopia of education and tasting events, both structured and informal. Founded in 2006, The Cheese School of San Francisco and its roster of expert instructors are also available for corporate events and private parties.
In the summer of 2018, we made the big move to San Francisco's historic Ghirardelli Square. We undertook a complete renovation. Today, we offer an eat-in cafe, cheese counter, and wine shop, in addition to catering, and private events. Our one-room schoolhouse now has an entire floor of its own with an iconic view of the San Francisco Bay. We’ve scoured the globe for the world’s best cheeses and invite you, whichever part of the world you may be from, to come and eat with us. After all, the best way to learn about cheese is by sharing.
For private events, our chef designs custom menus around the finest hand-crafted cheeses and exceptional local meat and produce. Events can be held either at our new facility in Ghirardelli Square (either in our cozy private room downstairs or in our 2nd-floor classroom) or a location of your choice. Classes and events are designed to be fun, informative and most of all, delicious.
