The Main Bar
Walking into The Well is walking into a piece of the architectural and brewing history of New York City itself.
The incredibly high ceilings and reinforced central metal pillars harken back to before the turn of the century when the space was built by German immigrants and used for the brewery itself. First, the space was used to get the horse drawn carriages into the backyard where the loading docks were, and later for the newfangled gasoline powered versions. The nearly two-feet-thick brick walls still stand the test of time in a space where people have been drinking booze for close to 150 years.
The 40’ bar boasts 60 tap lines, 150+ bottles and cans of beers, an incredible list of spirits (including over 150 whiskies), wines, champagnes and seasonal cocktails. Don’t worry, there’s so much more here than just beer!
