About Events with The Salt Line
The Salt Line is the Capitol Riverfront’s classic New England style fish house, opening across from Nationals Park on the SE Waterfront in spring 2017. Located in the Dock 79 development, the 3,500-square foot space boasts an expansive dining room, private dining, outdoor seating and a riverfront bar. Chef Kyle Bailey's menu draws inspiration from New England Classics and showcases his creative talents with seafood charcuterie, crudos, and signature raw bar offerings. The beverage program boasts an extensive cocktail and craft beer list, drawing heavily from NE & local breweries.

We offer a variety of outdoor spaces that can be tailored to almost any event need. Whether you are looking for an intimate seated dinner, small birthday gathering, or large corporate event, our outdoor bar and dining options, with panoramic views of the Anacostia River, are a great option for any event.

Private Dining Room
Our Essex Room is a cedar shingled private room that evokes the look and charm of a NE boatyard. The room features large windows and French doors which open up to the Anacostia Riverfront, and is perfectly suited for either a large seated dinner or an intimate standing cocktail reception. The room can also be combined with a portion of our riverfront patio to provide you with both additional capacity and indoor/outdoor experiences.
