About Us
The Dutchess is a 236-acre inn and biodynamic farm in the Hudson Valley town of Rhinebeck, about 90 minutes from Manhattan. Combining the scenic beauty of the countryside, farm-to-table food and a variety of nature activities, the Dutchess is a premier destination for retreats, weddings and a simple weekend getaway from the buzz of the city. Please note, for weddings we are only able to host rehearsals, meals and ceremonies, no receptions.

Farm
Our gardens span 4 acres, including a diversity of vegetables and soil building cover crops. Our farm operates biodynamically, which means that we view the farm as an integrated, biologically symbiotic organism.
All parts of the 230-acre landscape, our hydrology, wildlife, forests, pastures and fields all support the integrity and health of this farm organism. Planting dates are coordinated in relation to the broader cosmic rhythms of the solar, lunar and planetary movements through the constellations. The intended result is to grow food that is of highest nutritional value -- food that can fully support all aspects of the human being.
Our farm is a platform to help us teach our visitors about the value of this type of agriculture. We are also privileged to donate over half of all our vegetables to a local food shelter, helping us broaden the reach of our farm to support those in need within our community.

Food/Catering
Our menus are based on seasonal bounty. When possible, we source directly from our own farm and otherwise from our neighborhood farms and purveyors. Menus are subject to change based on produce availability. We offer breakfast, lunch and dinner served buffet, plated or family style.

Event Capacity
The Dutchess can host up to 44 overnight guests for a retreat all the way up to 5000 for an event. Please inquire.
