About Events with Old Original Bookbinder's Seafood & Steakhouse
Bookbinder's is a charming and unique restaurant featuring several dining rooms, banquet facilities and three bars. One of the bars, imported from a ghost town in Nevada is one of the longest and most beautiful mahogany bars in existence. The entrance is an old wheelhouse and everywhere you look is all manner of American antiques and memorabilia, such as ships' models, antique cash’ registers, toys and fire trucks, Currier and Ives prints, old maps and letters, and in the President's Bar is the Pach Collection, portraits of every American president. The fireplace in the Main Dining Room is flanked by Revolutionary War cannons and built with cobblestones worn smooth by the tramping of British and Colonial soldiers. And yes, you can still see Sarah Bookbinder's bell here too. It is no wonder that the restaurant has been designated an historical landmark.
Today, the Taxin family remains keenly aware of the glorious tradition that has been built here and continues to be dedicated to excellence and the same formula that made the restaurant great in Samuel Bookbinder's day: the choicest seafood, and the finest quality meat, fruits and vegetables available.
