Underwater Wedding Destinations You Should Check Out

    November 15, 2012

Tired of the traditional wedding venues like a reception hall or hotel ballroom? Have a wedding underwater! Yes, underwater, as in a submerged, below sea level "I Do" experience.  If this sounds like your dream wedding, then you've come to the right place.  We've hand picked the top underwater wedding destinations for when you decide to take the plunge!

    Atlantis, Paradise Island:

With it's breathtaking views, the Bahamas is already a top wedding destination.  So of course, the crystal clear waters are ideal for an underwater wedding.  Check out "The Ruins Lagoon", which has an underwater viewing room so your guests can attend the ceremony but keep dry while you and your spouse say "I do" among ancient ruins.

Fiji: Trying to stay dry? One day you'll be able to wed at the Poseidon Undersea Resort in Fiji.  This mostly acrylic glass resort will feature an underwater chapel and restaurant, so you can have your ceremony and reception all under the sea.  The resort isn't available for reservations just yet, but until then, you'll just have to settle for Fiji's crystal clear water and abundant marine life for your underwater wedding.

    Great Barrier Reef:

The Great Barrier Reef is definitely one of the most beautiful oceanic locations in the world.  Get married among thousands of unique tropical fish and beautiful coral.  Just watch out for the jelly fish!

    Florida Keys

A tropical underwater destination right here in the States! If you're planning an underwater wedding but don't want to break your budget on plane tickets alone, then the Florida Keys is perfect.  The water is beautifully clear and full of marine life to attend your wedding.

Although there are a number of fabulous wedding venues out there, for an ocean loving couple, an underwater wedding would be the perfect way to go! We thought the idea of an underwater wedding was amazing, and want to hear from you! Have you been to an underwater wedding or perhaps you, yourself, said "I do" underwater?
