[Tech Tuesday] Use RabbleBrowser for iPad to Collaboratively Browse

    May 21, 2013

In the world of event planning, collaboration is key, and any piece of technology that makes collaboration easier is worth trying out. This week we are taking a look at the free app RabbleBrowser by Float Mobile Learning which is currently available for download at apple.com. RabbleBrowser is a curated, collaborative web browsing and file sharing tool to help with learning and sharing in a group setting.

    How It Works

Using RabbleBrowser, one person can lead or facilitate a shared experience with an unlimited number of locally connected peers. As the leader browses the Web or views files on an iPad, the others in the session with them will see the path they are taking on their own iPads too. Integrated group chat, private chat, and bookmark sharing keeps the collaboration levels high. Using the easy integrated social tools, anyone in the session can share URLs to the Web via email, Twitter, Google+ and Facebook.

For the event planning industry, this app can be used in several different ways. If you’re planning a big event and have a team of people to help you plan, you can use the app within your event planning team to brainstorm ideas for the event venue, decorations, meal, entertainment, and everything in between. If you are in charge of hosting and organizing corporate meetings, Rabblebrowser can be used during the meeting to keep all attendees on the same page throughout the entire session.

The app is also perfect for trade shows or other large conferences where keynote speakers and other guests will be presenting on stage or in front of large crowds. Now even the person at the very back of the event space will be able to follow along with the presentation as well as the person in the front row.

    Key features include:

    • Shared browsing between a leader and a virtually unlimited number of connected clients via WiFi on a common network or via Bluetooth.

    • Integrated multi-user chat and private chat

    • Saving and editing of bookmarks

    • Easily Share files from your Photo library or sideload documents via iTunes

    • You can "Open in RabbleBrowser" from other apps on your iPad to easily send files to other RabbleBrowser users
