Halloween is the third biggest party day in the United States behind New Year's Eve and Super Bowl Sunday. There will be tons of celebrations this year, so make sure your party unforgettable with these DIY tips and tricks!

In the 1800s, Americans celebrated the harvest at the end of October by dressing up in masks, feasting and playing tricks on one another. It wasn't until the 1930's when the tradition of children walking door to door asking for candy became common practice. Make sure your house is extra spooky for trick-or-treaters by decorating with DIY ghosts. You can easily create a variety of ghosts to line your walkway  for trick-or-treaters. Tip: If you're having a party, place the ghosts around the party venue or leading up to the entrance.

The average American eats 1.2 pounds of candy on Halloween. Instead of munching on store bought treats, make your own! You can turn just about any homemade treat into a Halloween creation. These frosted brownies are perfect to bring along to a potluck or serve to guests at your own party.

Last year, Americans spent 6.86 billion dollars on Halloween decorations, candy and costumes. If you're on a budget, there are easy ways to cut back without missing out. Instead of indulging on over a pound of candy, create adorable centerpieces for your Halloween party! These DIY candy centerpieces are super easy to make and are a great way to decorate your Halloween event venue.
