    Corporate Catering Ideas

    January 18, 2013

Whether you’re planning a large corporate event or just catering into the office for lunch, it’s important to think about whom you are serving, and how you are going to go about serving them. Food is a very important aspect of many people’s lives. If you work at a big company, you have to serve a large amount of people – and that’s a lot of people to please. You can make it easy or you can go above and beyond your co-workers’ expectations; you have the opportunity to get creative with your catering! Serving the classic boxed lunches or prepackaged food is unnecessary when you can offer healthy options and a great meal. We put together a few corporate catering ideas to get you thinking about how you can feed your co-workers.

    Healthy Choices:

It’s always a good idea to have healthy options on your menu so that your co-workers don’t want to pass out after they eat. As great as unhealthy carbs and high-calorie meals taste, they aren’t good for our health and they can fill you up way too much! Try a variety of wraps and healthy sandwiches with personal topping choices, or a salad bar with an assortment of dressings that your guests can choose from. You can even make dessert healthier by substituting milk chocolate with dark chocolate! If you’re working with a catering company, ask them what their healthy options are, and try to incorporate them into your menu as much as you can.

    International Options:

Plan your menu around a specific type of food from a different country! Try a Mexican catering company, and serve enchiladas, tacos, and nachos! You can also try Italian food, and have a variety of pastas and sauces available. Chinese is always a tasty option, and there are tons of Chinese restaurants that cater: everyone loves chicken, beef, and rice! Choosing a specific genre of food will help you plan your menu, but make sure that there is something available for everyone to eat. If you really can’t decide on one genre, mix it up! Serve one type of food as an appetizer, one type as a main course, and one type as dessert! This is a great way to help your co-workers expand their horizons and possibly try things that they have never tried before.

    Theme/Company Promotion

A great way to get your co-workers motivated is by promoting your company’s main idea with your food! If your company has a color or a logo, incorporate it into your menu and table and event venue decorations. If that’s not enough for you, try to find foods that you can serve that correspond with your company color! It might be difficult, but if you work hard you will be able to pull it off. Another great way to show off your theme is with a cake: you can customize your cake however you want (pictures, words, colors, etc.) to show what your company is all about. If you have a theme, work with it when you plan your menu!

    Time of Year/Holiday

Think about integrating the season and nearby holidays into your food choices. In the fall and winter, serve mashed potatoes and gravy, and pie for dessert. During the summer, you can look into fruity cocktails and cold drinks. Depending on what time of year it is, you can get creative with the way that you cater to your company!

There are tons of different catering options that you can go with to ensure that you are pleasing everyone in your corporate company. Try to be creative and think about what your event is all about – food is very important to many people, and you don’t want to disappoint them with the meal that you serve!
