Birthday Party Trends 2013

    May 10, 2013

One of the most important aspects of throwing a birthday party is establishing whether or not there is a theme. Themes are important because they set the tone of the party, whether it is classy or casual, and also help when it comes to choosing decorations for your event venue. We've put together a list of the top recurring birthday party trends this year. Tell us if you've been to any or what you would add!
    Beer Tasting Theme
With an explosion in the independently-owned microbrewery culture, a beer tasting party is a must this year. This is a surefire way to make your birthday memorable. Many people desire to go beer tasting, but never quite get the chance. If your event location allows, set up multiple different stations based on the type of beer, where your guests can go and taste multiple styles. If beer is not your drink of choice, you can always have a wine tasting party instead.

    Colored Theme
If you want a theme, but want to keep it simple, consider having a theme based solely on a specific color. This adds a classy touch to your party, especially if the color is something along the lines of an emerald, gold, or black. Once you have the color chosen, you will want to choose decorations and invitations that complement that theme, but try not to go overboard. You can also have your guests dress in some variation of the colored theme.

    Flapper Theme
With the upcoming release of The Great Gatsby, the 1920's Flapper theme is more popular than ever. This is a theme that would best be done in a great speak-easy type of event venue, but can even be done in your own home. Also, decorating is extremely simple for this theme. Spa Day Theme
With summer around the corner, everyone can probably use a vacation. Unfortunately, not everyone can take time off, so why not recreate a pseudo spa vacation for your birthday party? Pamper yourselves with massages, facials, manicures, pedicures, and a luxurious afternoon at the spa.
