8 Party Ideas for Women-Focused Events

    September 10, 2013

Are you planning an event for women? Whether you’re planning a bridal or baby shower, bachelorette party, or corporate fundraiser, there are tons of cool ways you can tailor your event to your female guests! Check out these eight great party ideas for women-focused events.

    1. Nail Art Station

Get a few volunteers to help pamper your guests with a fun nail art station! Be sure to come prepared with all the fixings including miniature rhinestones and stickers. If yours is a sponsored event, you could even make little nail stickers with your sponsor’s logo.

    2. Make Your Own Perfume Station

The art of making perfume goes back centuries. Why not have a “Make Your Own Perfume” station at your next women-focused event? To pull this off, get a bunch of miniature bottles and fill them with different basic scents such as lavender, rose, and patchouli. Label all the basic scents then give your guests their own empty bottle to mix up a personalized scent just for them.

    3. Have Flowers for Guests to Take on Their Way Out

Rather than have the traditional party favors or goody bag, mix things up by having a large flower stand where your guests can take a single flower or small assortment home with them. Get a cart full of flowers and set it up near the entrance of your event space. It works great as part of the party décor during the event, then doubles as a goody bag at the end of the event, which is good for the budget.

    4. Hire Male Volunteers to Help with Silent Auctions

If you’re planning on hosting a fundraiser with a silent auction, consider hiring male volunteers to help promote the items up for auction. They can help describe all of the products in detail and help your guests make appropriate bids for each auction item. Tradeshows often use similar tactics in hiring models to help promote a particular product or brand.

    5. Have an Afternoon Tea Party

Most of us have fond memories of having elegant tea parties as children, so why not parlay those happy memories into a real-life afternoon tea party? Feature antique tableware and vintage china in your event venue to really bring home the theme.

    6. Put Nail Polish Bottles in Champagne Glasses

Create a colorful display at your event by setting up a large table with champagne glasses filled with nail polish bottles. These can also be used as party favors at the end of the night. Be sure to get a bright array of different colored nail polish. This will give your guests plenty of options in choosing their shade of nail polish to take home.

    7. Have a Heel-Check Station for After-Parties

If your hosting an after party, chances are your guests are going to be tired of walking all night in heels. To help them out, set up a heel-check station at your after party. Take their heels in exchange for a fresh pair of flip-flops or ballet flats. This will be one of the highlights of their night!

    8. Have a Frozen Yogurt Bar

Depending on your budget, you could either have a DIY yogurt bar or hire a popular yogurt shop like Pinkberry to host your yogurt bar. For a DIY bar, simply set up your dessert table with a pretty tablecloth and then stock it with Dixie cups full of frozen yogurt. You’ll also want to set up a variety of yogurt toppings so your guests can create their favorite frozen yogurt dessert.
