    September 24, 2013

Are you planning on hosting any events this fall season? Fall is a wonderful time of year to host cocktail parties as the weather has turned from hot and humid to crisp and refreshing. Jazz up your next party with these eight fall cocktail recipes that will help get your guests into the spirit of the fall season.

    1. Ginger and Tequila Cocktail

This deep purple cocktail is perfect for fall. You need six ingredients to make this: Reposado tequila, crème de cassis, ginger syrup, lemon juice, seltzer, and garnish. In a glass, combine one shot of tequila with ½ oz each of the rest of the liquids. Bourbon soaked cherries make an excellent garnish for this drink. You could also toss in a few blueberries or blackberries on a stick for a fresh twist. This drink would be great for a wedding that has a purple color scheme.

    2. Cocoa Old Fashioned

This drink is one of the classic fall cocktail recipes and was created by the head bartender at Chicago’s restaurant, Sepia. To make, combine cocoa-nib-infused rye whiskey with sherry-vanilla bitters, muddled oranges, and brandied cherries. This cocktail would be great for a Mad Med theme party.

    3. Spiked Mulled Apple Cider

What better way to warm up on a chilly fall night than with a hot cup of spiked cider? You can make this in large quantities before your event to help prep your event space. To make, get a gallon of apple cider, spiced rum, and all your favorite fall spices (think vanilla bean, orange, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon). Simply throw all the ingredients in a large pot and simmer on low. Best served warm. Garnish with cinnamon sticks, whipped cream, and caramel.

    4. Caramel Appletini

Serve this concoction in a martini glass for the best presentation. To make, combine 1 oz of Bailey’s irish cream and ½ oz of green apple flavored vodka into a shaker and shake with ice. Strain into a chilled glass and garnish with an apple slice and caramel. Yum!

    5. Candy Corn Tequila Martini

Get in the spirit of Halloween with this classy concoction. Rim a martini glass with orange juice then cocoa powder. In a shaker, add tequila, butterscotch schnapps, crème de cocoa and orange juice. Add ice and shake well. Strain into prepared martini glass. Garnish with an orange wheel and toothpick of candy corn.

    6. Pumpkin Pie Cocktail

People will be lining up around your event venue to get a taste of this delicious treat! Ingredients include Canadian Club® Classic 12, DeKuyper Buttershots, half & half, and pumpkin pie puree. Shake all ingredients together with ice and strain into a martini glass. If you want, you could rim the glass with graham cracker crust. Garnish with a pinch of pumpkin spice and serve.

    7. Poinsettia Cocktail

This is one of those lighter fall cocktail recipes that can be sipped on all night long! It’s also super easy to make. Simply pour a little triple sec and cranberry juice into a chilled champagne flute and top with Prosecco or champagne. This drink could also be used as an amazing New Year’s Eve drink.

    8. Ginger Snap

Almost everyone loves eggnog, but sometimes it needs a little something extra. Spice up tradition eggnog with a little ginger brandy and rum to make this delicious ginger snap cocktail. To make, add all three ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a cold glass and garnish with ginger snap.
