Typical range for this venue
The Waterworks Museum showcases three massive steam engines and their pumps preserved in their original glory - one of the best publicly-accessible collections of this machinery in existence. It interprets unique stories of the country's first metropolitan water system through exhibitions and educational programs on engineering, architecture, social history, and public health. You can examine several aspects of history all in one place: the time of the Industrial Revolution, Boston's Golden Age, and the beginning of understanding germ theory. It was recently added to the list of 1000 Great Places in Massachusetts.
The Museum consists of the Great Engines Hall and a modern glass-enclosed Overlook Gallery.
